Description

In Japanese mythology there is a story of a koi. Who, where all others had given up, persevered swimming up a waterfall. As a reward this koi was turned into a dragon by the gods. This legend is seen as a symbol of perseverance, strength, and transformation, a popular theme in Japanese art and culture.

The “hamon” on a traditional katana, is an intricate and unique pattern of the blade. This process of selective clay coating, “clay tempering” and quenching separates the harder edge from the softer spine. The beauty of the hamon lies not only in its visual appeal but also in its functionality, strengthening the blade and increasing its cutting ability. The hamon is a testament to the skill and artistry of the swordsmith and is highly valued by collectors and martial artists alike.

      this is the 5th katana that i have bought from ss and the quality of this blade is 2nd to none,just love the overall look of this katana and also all the help that david gave to me with this purchase inc insuring i had it before xmas,so all and all am really happy with this katana and the service and the next one that i will be buying is the damascus dual tempered katana.
