Description
On 15th June 1215, the English barons forced King John to seal under oath the Magna Carta (Great Charter) at Runnymede, near Windsor. This document itemized the barons' complaints and intended reforms. Neither side complied with the Magna Carta's conditions and civil war broke out that descended into a stalemate.
Just five months later, in October 1216, King John died at Newark Castle, Nottingham.
A pewter seal of King John supplied on a pin with clasp. The information card explains about the Magna Carta and its history.
