This Bowie is crafted in 6mm D2 Tool steel. With out getting too bogged down in steel grades. - D2 is considered one of the best steels you can make a knife out of. This is not fancy talk, it is a plain fact. We are at the pinnacle of knife steel quality. The AISI (American Iron and Steel Institue) consider D2 not to be a high carbon steel, but an ultra-high carbon steel. Where most knives you see on the market are in low-medium. - It does not really get any tougher than this.
