"Sageo" is the Japanese word for the braid used in the construction of Japanese sword/knife sheaths. It is essentially a flat rope. It is thicker and chunkier that its counterpart "ito" .
You could use it for any desired purpose, not just handle binding.
Our ito here is a quality synthetic ito. Or natural silk.

For a standard sized saya (scabbard), to get 8 rung/loops total you will need 7' on average.
We can generally supply up to 30' uncut. If you want longer than this uncut please contact us first and we will check if this is doable.
