The Scottish dirk, known as a “biodag” in Gaelic was the traditional, all-purpose side arm of the Scots. Whether picnicking by the loch with a bonnie lass, or dispatching pesky Englishmen, the dirk was always at the side of any able-bodied Scotsman.
This Scottish dirk with its large blade, features detailed etchings of thistle and filigree motif. Many of the steel fittings, including those on the leather-bound timber sheath, are also highly decorated making for a very recognizably Scottish knife. – A great addition of any Scottish dress.
