Description
The “shashka” sword first appeared around the late 17th century, with is “stripped back” hilt design. The first military issue shashka came in to being in 1834, by the Russian government. This 1927 pattern is from the early Soviet era and would have been carried by the famous Cossacks.
This shashka features a carbon steel blade with a wide fuller and soviet markings. The brass hilt fittings are dressed with ornate regalia. Complete with a leather-bound, timber scabbard. Finished in brass trim.
Full sized replica sword, in 1065AISI carbon steel. Brass fittings.
Comes standard with fine, blunt edge. Can be sharpened for an additional charge.
