Glamdring
For the money I paid, it's pretty good! The blade is stainless steel, nicely polished, the sheath and handle are covered in cheap faux leather. But! What did you expect for such a ridiculous price? I was disappointed that the guard is made of an alloy, not metal. It's fragile like hard plastic. Most likely made of silumin - the magnet doesn't stick. The delivery was quite long - 6 days from Auckland to Wellington... But oh well... The sword is not a museum piece, not a collector's item, but as a first sword in your hands and under or above the bed, it's quite good. You can sharpen it if you have a specialist. It's worth the small price. I'm quite satisfied. I might exchange the guard for a steel one... ----- FROM SUPERIOR SWORDS ----- Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and honest review, Ruslan. We’re pleased to hear that you’re overall satisfied with the sword, particularly the blade finish and the value it offers for the price. As this piece is designed primarily as a display and ornamental sword, materials such as a zinc alloy guard (a non-ferrous, non-magnetic metal) and faux leather fittings are used to keep it affordable while preserving the intended aesthetic. We would also like to reassure you that zinc alloy is not fragile when the sword is used and handled as intended. In fact, this material is widely used across the display sword industry, with approximately 95% of display-type swords featuring fittings made from zinc alloy. We do offer swords with steel fittings, though these are typically priced at least twice as high. We’re sorry to hear that the delivery time felt longer than expected. Six days from Auckland is within our standard shipping timeframe. Orders are processed in sequence, and transit times can vary depending on courier schedules and location, particularly for rural addresses. Also weekend delivery was not requested . That said, we’re glad to know the sword arrived safely. Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing us. We hope the sword continues to serve you well as an enjoyable introduction to the hobby.
