----------

One of the key differences between the light & heavy cavalry swords around this time was; - The light cavalry was better suited for skirmishing. With agile, maneuverable horses, their cavalrymen were equipped with a curved slashing blade. Were as the heavy cavalry. Often with bigger horses that were trained for the direct clash of a charge. Were equipped with a straight piercing blade.

The Pattern 1796 British Light Cavalry Sabre features a very wide carbon steel blade. With a fuller running down its length, stopping around the point of percussion. Creating a fairly tip heavy sword. The hilt is made from steel, with a wooden handle and genuine leather grip. It comes with a chunky steel scabbard. Complete with mounting eyes. - And while is it a "Light Cavalry" sword. It is one of the biggest sabres we have in stock.

Full sized replica sword, with a 1065AISI carbon steel blade.

Comes standard with fine, blunt edge. Can be sharpened for an additional charge.
