    XIV Longsword

It's always hard to know exactly what you're going to get buying a sword online. You can only look at dimensions and weight and hope the balance is right. This one feels amazingly light in the hand and has gone through a bunch of light targets with ease. I kinda want to swing it against some harder targets but it's too damn nice! Lol. Definite recommend :)

    Gladius

This is my second gladius. This sword, is as good as the first if not better, if that is possible. Craftmanship is superb.

    XIV Longsword

I opted for the sharpened longsword as part of my collection. I have dealt with Superior Swords before, having bought four swords from them in two years. I have found them to be honest, efficient and extremely helpful. My e-mails were answered within hours. I'm thrilled with this beautiful sword. I bought the Zyden hand-and-a-half last year and was very pleased with it. It's sharp, so I don't use it (or my new one) for training except for solo drills. The Zyden is a great workout although it is a heavy sword for its type. The XIV longsword is lighter and I can easily manage it one-handed. The blade is beautifully forged and finished. The fittings are snug and the pommel works well as both counterweight and a bit of extra handle. I'm looking forward to getting in some cutting practice with this sword (it's very sharp) and I think the blunt version would be fine for training and sparring. It's a great option for people getting into HEMA who might not have the money or patience to be sending off to Europe or America. Superior Swords are located in New Zealand, so everything is closer and there won't be any hiccups with over zealous Customs officials or the shipping costs. For anyone new to the world of swords and living in NZ I'll say, you really can't go wrong here.
