Description
The images on this coin are very significant to the Greek city of Corinth. On the obverse is the Greek Goddess Athena and on the reverse Pegasus.
According to myth it was on the Acrocorinth or citadel of Corinth, that Bellerophon, with the assistance of Athena’s gift of a golden bridal, subdued the winged horse Pegasus.
