Description
The "Tomoe" symbol holds great historical significance in Japan as one of the oldest symbols. Composed of three individual "magatama," it is believed that many deities originated from these sacred objects. Among the various forms of "Tomoe," the trinity spiral design is closely associated with the Samurai.
The blade of the Tomoe V Katana is meticulously forged, hammered, and folded using the technique of "Pattern Welded Steel," commonly referred to as "Damascus Steel." This process involves laminating steels of different grades and then twisting them together to create captivating swirls and grain patterns. Through careful polishing, sharpening, and treatment, these patterns are accentuated to their fullest expression.
